forgive the weird pink background…that's my watercolour box lid that I use to elevate the vase… Inspired by Chinese traditional celebration: mid autumn festival. Mooncakes. Yummmm…..

Autumn is often associated with solemnity, maturity and pensiveness. However, this piece takes on a different approach to autumn. Rather than being carried by the gloom of the dull and cold sky, I choose savour the rich colours of the leaves, floating about in the air. The child-likeness of the pink maple leaves remind us that we may keep that child-like charm and cheerfulness for as long as we live - even when autumn and maturity come.
You want to run in the park. Chase the butterflies. Smell the flowers. Lie on the grass. Enjoy the sunshine.
